[meme] movies.
1. Pick 20 15 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. No Googling/using IMDb search functions!

1. Listen to me. He's a young lad. He's had a fucking bad week. So we bring him in wi' us to show him a bloody good time and you've just friggin' back handed him roun' head. I'M DISAPPOINTED, MATE!

2. For entertainment value, I listen.

3. Oh, how can I put this delicately? It's just that I'm not really in the vagina business. PETER'S FRIENDS ([info]helloworld)

4. One day I'll catch up with you. You want a war? I'll give you a fucking war one arm tied behind me back. I'll shoot you - blow you to kingdom come. They'll need a dustpan and brush to scrape you off the walls. Make mincemeat out of ya. Pie and mash, puddles of blood. I'll leave you lying there. Go rot, the lot of you. Calling me a cunt? GANGSTER NO. 1 ([info]racetrack)

5. All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us? LIFE OF BRIAN ([info]macguffin)

6. Look, I can't trust you. You ought to be smart enough to know that. I didn't shake up the party to get your attention, and I'm not heeling you too hook you. Your connections could help me, but the bad baggage they bring could make it zero sum gain or even hurt me. Better coming at it clean. BRICK ([info]racetrack)

7. I have turned the world upside down, and I have done it all for you! I am exhausted from living up to your expectations of me. Isn't that generous? LABYRINTH ([info]24601/[info]racetrack)

8. Good evening. I couldn't help noticing that you were making an unsuccessful suicide bid.

9. You don't want to touch another man's teeth, because you're worried you might be attracted to me. Just touch my teeth.

10. Go away! I'm trying to die!

11. Why? I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's trouble, a man alone. Now they got the whole country sectioned off, you can't make a move without a form. BRAZIL ([info]macguffin)

12. You know, there are several major book chains that would be willing to disagree with you on that point.

13. Dances in London so dull. Comic dances in Scotland and disgusting dances in the suburbs. All that succession and repetition of massed humanity. All those vile bodies. And now a party in a mental hospital... BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS ([info]racetrack)

14. I'm certainly not the man I was. Thank goodness.

15. To trudge: the slow, weary, depressing yet determined walk of a man who has nothing left in life except the impulse to simply soldier on. A KNIGHT'S TALE ([info]hello_from_dis)

I'm always afraid that someone will be reading the comment thread and be totally absorbed in the narrative, and then they'll come to the end and spend the next few days refreshing the page, waiting for the ending to the story. And it will never come. AND THEN THEY WILL KILL THEMSELVES.

I think you once explained this train of thought to me, and at the end you provided a snippet of the police finding him and saying it was a narrative induced suicide, or something to that effect, and I used that as an inspiration for an example I was writing once. HERE, IT'S FROM MY KEVIN ENTWHISTLE APP, THE ONE I WAS TALKING ABOUT IN CHAT.

Oh, you know, I think I dropped it when i bent down to tie my shoes. My shoes always come untied. Ever since I tried tying them with magic that one time they've refused to stay tied. It's a serious bitch to constantly have to bend all the way down and tie them. But whatever. It's not like it's going to kill me or anything. That would be such a lame death.

"How did this one die, Cap'n?"
"Another shoelace related death, kid."
"Tragic. Tragic."

FOR THE RECORD, I thought I'd already replied to this. I wasn't trying to be cruel by explaining why I always wrap things up and the deliberately NOT wrapping things up.

So, TO CONCLUDE this thread (unless you reply to this comment), I THINK THAT IS AWESOME.

4. DUDE. GANGSTER #1. Oh PAUL BETTANY. <333

6 is BRICK. <3

7 is too easy. It's Labyrinth.

13 is BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS. Oh I love Stephen Campbell Moore and James McAvoy and Emily Mortimer so!

Those are the only 4 I know. Well, the Life of Brian quote, too, but someone else already got it! Those four are in my top 100 movies, though, so.. yeah.

I'm not a nerd. :P
